2012 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is our dedication to everything great about this grape from this growing region. Sourced from four distinct Red Mountain vineyards, but only one clone of Cabernet Sauvignon: Clone 8, the Washington clone. We find classic characteristics of cherry, red currant, raspberry, anise, and vanilla on the nose with this wine. This is complimented by dark fruit tones in a richly textured palate with polished tannins. The Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is made to be approachable yet distinct. Drink now through 2020.

The classic 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain is more evolved and open than the single-vineyard releases. Giving up plenty of toasted bread, spice-box, cured meats, vanilla and red currants, it’s full-bodied, rounded and textured, with good tannin. Aged in 40% new French and American oak, I suspect it will evolve more rapidly than the more pricey releases, yet it should still have 10-15 years of overall longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck
