2013 Quintessence Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
#4 Cabernet Sauvignon
Top 100 Washington Wines, Seattle Metropolian Magazine
A newcomer on Red Mountain, Quintessence is already showing itself to be one of the appellation's finest. This 100 percent varietal wine boasts aromas of barrel spice, black fruit, and coffee. It's full of lively cherry flavors surrounded by firm but well-balanced tannins. - Sean Sullivan
Quintessence Vineyard creates the eastern border of the Red Mountain AVA, and provides fruit with impressive quality and concentration. Aromatics of blackberry, blueberry, and cassis lift from the glass, punctuated by savory spices and brown sugar tones. On the palate, these are joined by cassis, dark fruits, sweet tobacco, cola, and caramel tones. The mouthfeel is soft and earthy, with rounded, elegant tannins, and a lingering finish. Drink now through 2025.
