Fidelitas Wines

2014 Optu Red Mountain

2014 Optu Red Mountain

93 Points, The Wine Advocate

"Coming all from Red Mountain, the 2014 Optu checks in as a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and the balance Cabernet Franc. It's a forward, open knit, opulent and deliciously hedonistic beauty that gives up lots of cedar, blackcurrants, mulled plums and spice. Deep, rich and textured, it's a high-class fruit bomb to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years."  - Jeb Dunnuck

Optu Red Mountain remains as the pillar of the Fidelitas line up, appearing in each vintage since we began in 2000. A Cabernet-based blend, this wine serves as a tribute to our favorite varietals and vineyards from each growing season. In the 2014 vintage, we find aromas of raspberry, black cherry, and currants, accompanied by a touch of brown sugar and dried herbs. The hefty palate provides touch of fig and violet, set against chalky tannins, and displays plenty of fruit and weight on the lengthy finish. Enjoy now through 2028.
