All Fidélitas wines are made exclusively from Bordeaux varietals from Washington’s most distinctive terroir, Red Mountain. We work with a community of small like-minded growers, many family-owned, family-run operations.
These partners help us tell the story of Red Mountain through its soil, highlighting the diversity of flavors, textures, and aromas that this hillside has to offer. The world-class terroir of Red Mountain is as much about heat, wind, and soil diversity as it is the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into growing vines on this rugged terrain.
The site of our tasting room and vines that we put in the ground ourselves in 2008. Legendary vineyard manager, Dick Boushey, manages our vineyard and worked alongside Charlie to put our vines in the ground matching varietals and clonal selections with our different blocks. We have Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc planted here. The soils here are deep and dusty and the wines have a rich and plush texture to them.
Just a mile down Sunset road is the historic Ciel du Cheval vineyard with their iconic brown barn. One of the original plantings on Red Mountain by Jim Holmes established in 1975. His son Richard is now at the helm and continues in the family tradition creating wines that are a perfect balance of old vine complexity and elegance with new world power and concentration.
Heart of the Hill was established in 2006 and is managed with love and care by the Williams Family–now third-generation farmers and the other founding family of Red Mountain. It is a picturesque vineyard covering the south-western slope of Red Mountain and makes for pretty and powerful Cabernet and Malbec with enticing aromas and lovely polished tannin structures.
Another one of the William Family’s properties. They took over this property in 2019, and they were the perfect stewards to reinvigorate our old-vine Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon that we purchase every year. The site sits at the very base of the mountain, where the cooling effects of the Yakima River are greater and help preserve a natural mouthwatering acidity which balances well with the tropical warm-weather white Bordeaux flavors and textures.
Part of this historic property was put into the ground in 1984 by Red Mountain pioneer Mike Moore. The Corliss family of Corliss Estates in Walla Walla has since taken over and brought back to life an old vine block of Cabernet that sits just to the South of our Estate. Charlie loves the “old-school Washington Cabernet” that it produces. We also source a single block of Malbec from the property that sits on the side of a narrow canyon and is one of the most extreme growing sites on the hillside. It makes for an extremely expressive style of Malbec with tons of character.
Managed by Marshall Edwards, who has worked with and argued over grapes with Charlie since their Chateau Ste. Michelle days. Planted in 2010 we were able to pick out our vineyard blocks before they were planted. The property surrounds Antinori Road on the eastern side of Red Mountain. Here, you will hardly find any topsoil and lots of southern-facing slopes that receive extreme heat and unrelenting winds. Managed with grace by Marshall and his team, the result is the most powerful and concentrated wines in our lineup, but perfectly in balance.
