This is our second 100% varietal Petit Verdot our of the Fidélitas Estate. An extremely limited bottling with only 6 barrels selected for the final blend. Petit Verdot, traditionally only used as a blending grape, does well on Red Mountain with the hot and dry growing conditions reaching full ripeness. The result is a wine that has tons of concentration and chewy tanning structure but loads of fruit and complexity. On the aroma we get plum, blueberry, and dried sage. The palate is mouthful of tannin and ripe fruit—black currant, blackberry, and raspberry. Pair this wine with fattier style dishes to compliment the full tannin structure. For a Petit Verdot this is actually drinking quite well in its youth although would benefit with a good 30 minut to 1 hour decanting. Drink now through 2035.
