2013 Fidelitas Estate Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Releasing the second vintage of Estate Vineyard Cabernet is nearly as exciting as releasing the first. Fruit for this wine comes from the three vineyard acres that surround our Red Mountain Tasting Room, creating a truly special wine. Lively aromas lift from the glass, showcasing bright red and black berry tones, strawberry preserves, vanilla, baking spice, and subtle hints of clove. The palate is expressive with cherries, raspberries, and cedar shavings, highlighting excellent balance, fine grained tannins, and a chewy middle. Drink now through 2025.
93 Points, Wine Advocate
The inky colored 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Fidelitas Estate Vineyard comes all from Red Mountain and spent 22 months in new French oak. Similar in style to the Ciel du Cheval release with its more chiseled, focused and elegant character (The Champoux release cuts a wider swatch on the palate), it offers terrific notes of graphite, lead pencil shavings, crème de cassis and licorice to go with a full-bodied, surprisingly polished package. There’s plenty of tannin here, but they’re ripe and ultra-fine, both suggesting that while it drinks well even today, it should evolve gracefully. Enjoy this beauty anytime over the coming 15+ years.
