2013 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, by design, hits all the points of this varietal from this growing region. Featuring Clone 8, the Washington Clone, we find aromas of raspberry, strawberry, cola, brown sugar, and a savory spice quality. There areis loads of fruit on the palate, with baked berries, cherry, sage, vanilla, and mocha. The tannins are silky and rounded, adding to the lengthy finish. Drink now through 2023.
92 Points, Wine Advocate
Another hedonistic effort from winemaker Charlie Hoppes is the 2013 Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, which is 100% varietal and spent 22 months in roughly 60% new French and American oak. Revealing lots of plums, black cherries, toasted spice and scorched earth, it’s medium to full-bodied, has tons of fruit, a rounded, mouth-filling texture and outstanding length. It’s a total charmer that will put a smile on any Cabernet lovers face over the coming decade.
