2015 Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
Ciel du Cheval Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon shows the elegance of Red Mountain, utilizing clones 191 and 8 sourced from this notable and well-established site. Abundant aromas include raspberry, blueberry, dark cherry, and vanilla bean. The palate is full, juicy, and rounded with very refined tannins, adding in blackberry, sweet cigar tones, hints of dusty earth and baking spice, then leading to a long and delicate finish. Drink now through 2027.
95 Points, James Suckling
A wealth of toasty oak and baking spices across ripe dark berries and red plums, as well as nuances of more savory cedary oak and warm clay. The palate has an impressive sense of concentrated flavor and a well-judged structure. Builds nicely, holding ripe dark berries and plums deep into the finish. Drink or hold.

From one of my favorite vineyards on Red Mountain, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Ciel du Cheval spent 22 months in 29% new French oak. Black cherry, blueberries, violets, spring flowers, and lavender notes all emerge from the glass and it has a rich, rounded, voluptuous style on the palate. Nicely balanced, with sweet tannin, it's another rocking wine from Fidelitas to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years.
