Blackwood Canyon Cabernet comes from the 1984 planting at a vineyard block due just 10 yards West of the Fidélitas Estate. This block of Cab that we’ve sourced since 2014 gives us a sneak peek of the terroir of our Estate with 20+ mores years of vine age.  Blackwood Cab is a showcase of old vine complexity and finesse balanced with new world fruit and concentration and classic Red Mountain dusty tannins. On the aroma we get Bing cherry, toasted oak, and baking spices — the palate, black berry, dark chocolate and a little bit of spice. This wine gets extended barrel aging (~27 months) which allows the high percentage of new oak to integrate into the wine and makes it more approachable while young for such a big wine but will surely last in your cellar for 15+ years especially this vintage.
