This is truly a special bottling from Fidélitas taking Charlie’s decades long passion for Washington Merlot and working with the oldest Merlot vines on Red Mountain planted in 1975 (that old Block making up 75% of this wine). As Charlie describes this wine “this is a beautiful example of what makes Washington Merlot unique and one of the best places in the world to grow this varietal.” On the aroma we loads of dark fruit—black cherry, blueberry, and fig. The palate is rich and balanced with great new oak integration—strawberry, vanilla bean, raspberry. Although a small production this wine was made blending 8 different micro-fermentations adding to the depth and complexity. Drink now with a good 45 minute decant or through 2035.
