This is the second edition of a Clone 169 Cabernet Sauvignon bottling out of our Estate but a grape we’re familiar with working with a similar block out of Quintessence since 2012. This wine is a powerhouse, about as concentrated and tannic of a Cabernet that we’ll produce. Compared to the Clone 412, this is much darker and more old world in style. On the aroma we get wet rocks, black currant, and cocoa. The palate is dense and weighty but balanced with fresh acidity—tobacco, black berry, and Bing cherry. We’d recommend pairing this wine with richer dishes to compliment the intensity and full tannin structure. Try and hold on to this one for a good 3-5 years before opening and decant it when you do. Should last 20+ years in the cellar.
