Quintessence is our largest vineyard partner from a tonnage perspective with 14 different vineyard blocks and 6 varietals that we bring in our cellar doors each harvest. The makeup is unique, dominant in the traditional blending varietals Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc but the quality and warmth of this growing site allow them to reach full ripeness adding lots of different dimensions to the wine compared to our other blends. On the aromas we get violet, black pepper, and raspberry. Hitting all different areas of the palate—red plum, fig, and vanilla bean. This wine is a perfect showcase of the dusty, rustic tannin structure that we see across the board with Quintessence wines. Hold on to this one for another couple years if you can before or; should last another 15 years in your cellar.
